Lovinah Skincare was born from a personal journey of healing, heritage, and the unwavering belief that beauty is more than skin deep. Our founder, Joy Ekhator, created Lovinah out of both necessity and destiny, merging the ancient rituals of her African heritage with the scientific precision of modern skincare.  Born into a rich lineage of traditional African healing, Joy was raised in a home where wellness was more than a practice, it was a way of life. Her father, a respected traditional chief, and her grandmother, a revered herbalist, bone doctor, and midwife, passed down

ancestral knowledge that deeply shaped Joy’s understanding of the body’s innate ability to heal and thrive through nature. Joy was deeply influenced by her roots. These early experiences ignited a passion that never faded.

With a professional background in Science and Technology, Joy later found herself searching for balance between the clinical and the spiritual, the modern and  the ancestral. When her own health challenges led her to rethink everything she knew about wellness, she returned to the rituals of her past and found renewal. That renewal became Lovinah.

Her journey with skincare began as a personal mission to heal her own skin, one that ultimately evolved into a global luxury brand rooted in ritual, results, and reverence for heritage.
